Eendracht:
Cherbourg (FR) - Leixoes (PT)

24 November - 02 December 2019

Crossing the Bay of Biscay. This is a trip for true adventurers. You will board the Eendracht in Cherbourg and, after the safety instructions and getting to know each other, you’ll set the course for Leixoes, the sea port of Porto, Portugal. On the way you will cross the Bay of Biscay, which can get rough. Once you’ve passed this sailing challenge, you’ll reach northern Spain and, finally, Portugal where you will moor close to one of the most famous cities: Porto. Enjoy the sailing, watch out for dolphins who love the Biscay, get to know new people and spend some time away from your phone and computer. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Situated on the Normandy coast, Cherbourg-Octeville is close to the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey, and to a large nature park in the southeast. This makes Cherbourg perfect as a base for several day trips. But the town itself also has plenty to offer any Windseekers. Visit the Cité de la Mer, a large museum devoted to scientific and historical aspects of maritime subjects, the Botanical Gardens, or the racetrack at La Glacerie. Or discover this typically French town on foot.

Leixoes is a port town in northern Portugal, only 10 km out of Porto. It's one of Portugal's major seaports located near the estuary of the Douro River. Take a walk to the old fortifications, dine in one of the many seafood restaurants and then relax on a sandy beach. If you have more time and would like to explore, take a trip to nearby Porto, famous for its architecture - and wine!
