Sal (CV) - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ES)

27 January - 09 February 2017

SPECIAL OFFER: SECOND PERSON FOR FREE! Are you a true sailing enthusiast and like to sail while enjoying a beautiful setting with the sun? Then this sailing trip is what you want! Step aboard the Eendracht in Cape Verde. After setting up the cabin and instructions from the crew you will have dinner with your fellow trainees. After dinner we recommend you to get a good night of sleep before the journey begins. The next morning, the sails are put together and the watch system of 4 hours on and 8 hours off will enter into force. We will sail along the Cape Verde Islands, where we will make one or more stops. It all depends on the progress! You can enjoy this beautiful area in any case. We will head towards Las Palmas, where we encourage you to extend your holiday! Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Sal is one of the three sandy eastern islands of the Cape Verde archipelago, together with Boa Vista and Maio. The island is a dream destination for windsurfing enthusiasts, due to its sandy beaches and persistent winds. Tourism is on the rise in Cape Verde, but outside of the beach resort of Santa Maria the island retains its relaxed feel. Explore the quiet streets with their brightly colored houses, the blue eye cave, and the saline flats. The sun shines 350 days a year, so bring sunscreen!

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a cosmopolitan town, the shared capital (with Santa Cruz) of the Canary Islands. Situated on the ‘wet’ north side, the city feels more authentic than the touristy places on the ‘dry’ south side. Las Palmas offers beaches, cheap shopping, culture and excitement with a night life, primarily in the district of Vegueta. Its culture is decidedly Spanish, mixed with influences from all over the world, as Las Palmas’ port has been in operation for centuries.
