Gallant:
Amsterdam (NL) - Falmouth (GB)

17 June - 23 June 2015

Get ready for Sail Training! Journey from Amsterdam to Falmouth with the Gallant, across the English Channel, and experience the thrill of ocean sailing on this fast logger. Learn to set and trim the sails, pick up a thing or two about navigation, and enroll in the watch system. Work as a team with the experienced crew and your fellow Windseekers to get peak performance from the Gallant. Gaze at the stars during your night watch, but don’t forget to keep an eye out for ship traffic in the always busy English Channel. As a true Windseeker you won’t mind a bit of wind and high seas, which is just as well, as the English Channel can quickly change from calm to choppy. By the time you reach your destination you’ll have found your sea legs, and are ready for more! Open for all ages, minimum age 15 years (from age 12 years at request)

Ports

With more bicycles than people, cycling is an integral part of Amsterdam's DNA. Hop on and see the city like the locals do! Winding waterways, idyllic bridges and historic buildings - one of the most memorable ways to truly see Amsterdam is from the canals. Amsterdam has a full cultural agenda showcasing the very best festivals, nightlife, exhibitions & events, plus there is enough practical tourist info, hotel, museum, excursion & attraction listings, you won't miss a thing!

Falmouth lies near the southwestern tip of the United Kingdom. It’s a quaint port town, surrounded by grassy hills and forests, and famous for its harbor. Going on a hike here is very rewarding! Sailing is a popular pastime in Falmouth, so don’t be surprised if you’re engaged in a lively discussion on the finer points of navigation over a beer in one of the local pubs. Falmouth has been a kind port to Tall Ships, hosting the Tall Ships Races in 1966, 1982, and 1998.
