Santa Maria Manuela:
Lisbon (PT) - Sesimbra (PT) - Lisbon (PT)

28 September - 01 October 2023

Start your voyage with a unique experience: a private, behind the scenes, tour of the Oceanário de Lisboa. Spend the evening enjoying the Portuguese cuisine to the sounds of Fado together with your new crew mates. Get back on board and head south towards the Arrábida National reserve. Explore the coast of Sesimbra by kayak, immerse yourself in the tranquil sea of Luiz Saldanha Marine Park. The dive or snorkel is enriched by an educational talk, by the resident marine biologist, on the conservation project, which is protecting this fragile ecosystem. Travel on the Sado Estuary and discover one of only three sedentary dolphin communities in Europe. Meet local fishermen and learn how to choose, prepare, and cook the most traditional Portuguese fish dishes.
For Windseekers aged 14-80 years (trainees younger than 18 have to be accompanied by an adult).
Different cabins available: contact info@windseeker.org to enquire.

Ports

Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…

OTHER JOURNEYS YOU MIGHT LIKE

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
