No places available anymore – Embark on a journey of discovery along the Norwegian fjords. You’ll join the Sorlandet during the Cruise in Company of the Tall Ships Races 2015. Together with the rest of the fleet you’ll sail from the Norwegian port of Alesund to Kristiansand, making stops along the way. Visit quaint harbours, admire the rugged coastline, go for a swim in a 1000 meter deep inlet, or perhaps enjoy a beach barbecue? You’ll be part of life on deck, helping to navigate the ship through fjords and between islands. The Fjords were a particular highlight for trainees and crew during the Tall Ships Races 2014 and we are looking forward to visiting them again. We will arrive in Kristiansand in time for the crew events there. Open to Windseekers age 15 and up. Prenight possible. 70 EUR p.p.p.n.
Ålesund is once again host port for The Tall Ships Races in 2015. Ålesund harboured the event for the first time in 2001, in an intimate harbour amongst beautiful fjords, mountains and islands. Consisting out of seven islands, Ålesund is a modern city. In 1904 the city, once built largely of wood, was completely burned down by a sea of flames. After a period of planning, the town was rebuilt in stone, brick, and mortar in Jugendstil.
Stavanger is a modern port, but retains a small historic district. The lovely old harbour is a favourite stopover for big cruiseships, that tower over the buildings. The city has a lively cultural scene, and is surrounded by numerous outdoor destinations well worth a visit. Explore the narrow, rocky Lysefjord and the mountains Preikestolen and Kjerag, or relax on Jæren's beaches. Make sure to bring hiking boots, as the mountains stand over 1000 meters tall.
"Super great experience, I recommend it to everyone. I loved it!!! Everything was perfect."
The bow of the Sorlandet cuts through the North-European waters at summertime. Since 1995 she regularly crosses the Atlantic Ocean on the way to far-away destinations, like the Caribbean. Sometimes the Ship is manned by the cadets of the Royal …
