Statsraad Lehmkuhl:
Arendal (NO) - Bergen (NO)

18 August - 21 August 2023

Help bring the majestic Statsraad Lehmkuhl to her homeport in Bergen, Norway. Leave the cozy town of Arendal and sail along the Norwegian coast towards Bergen. This short trip is perfect if you want to get a taste of Sail Training without committing too much time. You will learn how to sail a large ship. There will also be time to relax in your hammock, get to know your ship mates, enjoy the nice food and take in the beautiful nature experiences at sea. Open to Windseekers of 15 years and older, 12-15 on request.

Ports

Arendal is a charming town in the south of Norway. Its old city centre still retains wooden houses, dating back to the 17th century. The old harbor Pollen hosts the fish market, cafes and restaurants. Step into one of them to enjoy a meal with a view. The surrounding countryside is hilly and green, and offers beautiful vistas over the islands and waterways nearby. You can also stay in town and visit the KUBEN Museum to learn about the local history or explore the science center.

Bergen is the gateway to the Fjords of Norway and a well-established cruise port. It's an international city packed with history and tradition, a big city with small-town charm and atmosphere. Stroll around old streets and alleyways, and mingle with the crowds at the Fish Market. Saunter along the listed wooden buildings at Bryggen to the old fortress at Bergenhus, or call in at one of Bergen’s museums and galleries. The panoramic views of the city, the fjord and the ocean are breathtaking.

OTHER JOURNEYS YOU MIGHT LIKE

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
