Statsraad Lehmkuhl:
Bergen (NO) - Rouen (FR)

31 May - 07 June 2023

Sail to Normandy – Get away from everyday life and experience something brand new. Board Statsraad Lehmkuhl in Bergen, Norway, and embark on a journey all the way to Rouen in France. Spend 7 days on the sea, learning to sail and enjoying life on board a huge Tall Ship. The voyage ends in the harbor of Radicate, from where you will be able to take a bus to Rouen, where a large maritime festival will take place from the 8th to the 18th of June. The bus is free of charge and will drive alongside the river, so you can enjoy the parade of vessels making their way to port along the Seine. Open to Windseekers of 15 years and older, ages 12-15 on request.

Ports

Bergen is the gateway to the Fjords of Norway and a well-established cruise port. It's an international city packed with history and tradition, a big city with small-town charm and atmosphere. Stroll around old streets and alleyways, and mingle with the crowds at the Fish Market. Saunter along the listed wooden buildings at Bryggen to the old fortress at Bergenhus, or call in at one of Bergen’s museums and galleries. The panoramic views of the city, the fjord and the ocean are breathtaking.

Rouen is a city with long history located on the River Seine in Normandy, North France. It's also the venue of L'Armada, a sailing festival which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2019. When visiting Rouen you can't miss the Gothic Cathedral and Palais de Justice. For nature lovers the Roumare Forest just outside the city is the place to be, while art enthusiasts should visit Musee Secq des Tournelles - the wrought iron museum.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
