Battle of the Barques: Team Tenacious. Are you up for an adventure? Join this exciting journey of one week, during which you will race against another Tall Ship: the Lord Nelson. The first night will be spent on anchor to give everyone a chance to get familiarized with the Ship, before the race starts. The route will depend on the wind conditions in order to provide for the most interesting competition! The 2018 Battle of the Barques will be one of the highlights of the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s 40th anniversary celebrations. Open to all able-bodied and disabled trainees, minimum age 16 years.

Ports

Southampton, on the shores of the Solent, is the largest port of England. The bustling town offers plenty of distractions, and is known (sometimes reviled) for its brutalist architecture. However, the city hosts a number of fine museums, the Tudor House, and long stretches of medieval walls. Also, the beautiful English countryside is just a short drive away. The yearly Southampton boat show in september should be on any Windseeker’s calendar. And don’t forget to visit the Isle of Wight!
