Tenacious:
Dartmouth (GB) - Portsmouth (GB)

01 September - 05 September 2018

Join wooden Tall Ship Tenacious for a short sailing trip in the late summer. Board the vessel and spend the night anchored on the River Dart, admiring the fireworks for the Royal regatta. Then sail along the south coast of England to Portsmouth and admire the iconic Jurassic coastline from a completely new perspective. This short coastal journey is ideal for someone wanting a taste of Tall Ship sailing, or anyone who wants to prolong the first weekend of September and finish the sailing season right. Open to all able-bodied and disabled trainees, minimum age 16 years.

Ports

Dartmouth is a town in Devon, South West England and a famous deep water-port. With its rich history dating back to the 12th century, Dartmouth is a very picturesque town. You can visit one of the medieval castles standing guard on the River Dart, take a stroll through one of the beautiful gardens, get active in a national park or chill on the beach.

Portsmouth is the only English island city, located on Portsea Island. As a long time naval port, this bustling city offers plenty of reminders of its rich history. Visit the Historic Dockyard, the HMS Victory (Lord Nelson’s former flag ship, still in commission!), or the Royal naval museum. In the Southsea district you’ll find the Southsea Castle and the Clarence Pier. The Historic Dockyard hosts the Victorian Festival of Christmas, which is the largest event of its kind in the UK.
