Wylde Swan:
Ullapool (GB) - Harlingen (NL)

21 September - 27 September 2018

Back to the Netherlands! In this port to port delivery trip you will help to bring the Wylde Swan from Scotland back to the Netherlands. You will spend 6 days on board, living the life of a sailor – setting and trimming the sails, steering, standing on lookout, etc. You don’t have to have any sailing experience to join this early autumn trip and enjoy crossing the North Sea together with your fellow trainees and professional crew. The hours mentioned are the sailing times, you can come on board the night before the trip and disembark the morning of the 28th. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Ullapool, despite its small size is the largest settlement for many miles around and a major tourist destination of Scotland. The village was founded in 1788 as a herring port by the British Fisheries Society. A few Cordyline australis or New Zealand cabbage trees are grown in the town and are often mistaken for palms. The harbour is still the edge of the village, used as a fishing port, yachting haven, and ferry port. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings here.

Harlingen is a historic trade and fishing port in Friesland, the Netherlands, with roots going back over a thousand years. Its charming old town features well-preserved streets and buildings, perfect for exploring on foot. Despite its small size, Harlingen has a lively atmosphere and was a proud port of call for the Tall Ships Races in 2022. With its gezellig pubs and welcoming vibe, Harlingen is an ideal stopover for any traveler.
