Bark Europa:
Tenerife (ES) - Cape Verde (CV)

02 October - 11 October 2019

Following Magellan. The second leg of Bark Europa’s journey following Ferdinand Magellan will take you from one beautiful archipelago to another one. Board the Tall Ship in Tenerife in the Canaries. Take in your surroundings: the volcanic landscapes, tropical nature, and famously nice weather, before setting course on the Atlantic for Cape Verde. This archipelago off the coast of west Africa is one of the stops for sailors crossing the ocean from Europe to Americas. The remote islands have been uninhabited until the 15th century and are still rarely visited by tourists, making them the perfect destination for travellers looking for the off-the-beaten-path experiences. Open to Windseekers of 15 years and older. Limited places in 2-person cabins available.

Ports

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and a popular tourist destination. One of the largest Carnival festivals is hosted here, and for tourists there is a lot to see and do. But the island is large enough to escape mass tourism, so let its natural beauty seduce you to a hike or a drive around the island. You'll find mountains to climb, cliffs overlooking bays, and ravines. The 'Island of eternal spring' is just what you need if you arrive fresh from your Journey!
