Cape Verde Journey #2. Step on board the traditional Tall Ship Oosterschelde for a winter island-hopping adventure. Explore the Cape Verde archipelago, visting 6 different islands, some of them still untouched by mass tourism. Spend 11 days on board, enjoying the mild weather, diverse landscapes and vibrant wildlife. Discover a different place nearly every day. You can join your crew mates on organised excursions ashore – these are optional and paid additionally on board (If you participate in every excursion this will cost about € 140,- per person.) IMPORTANT: In order to join this journey you must send a proof of vaccination 48h prior to the embarkation. If the situation gives cause to do so, the crew can ask you to take a Sars-Cov-2 Antigen rapid test when you come on board. All Oosterschelde crew members are vaccinated. Open to all ages 15+

Ports

Palmeira is the third-largest town in Cape Verde, situated on the island of Sal, yet it still retains that cosy small village atmosphere. When you land in Palmeira you will have just completed a crossing over the Atlantic waters. Whilst resting in Palmeira, visit some bars and restaurants to try local specialties, or explore further to desert Oases, caves and beaches.

São Vicente is one of the Cape Verde islands, located off of the west coast of Africa. The island has a rare dry tropical climate, with temperatures around 25 degrees Celsius year-round. The warm ocean waters and the persistent winds make for great (wind)surfing conditions. Go horseback riding or explore the mountainous island, play a round of golf at the excellent 18-hole golf course, or relax in one of the small bars around the harbor.
