Tecla:
Falmouth (GB) - Liverpool (GB)

26 May - 04 June 2015

Escape the land and join the crew and trainees on board Tecla, with this Windseeker Sail Training Journey. On board you’ll experience life at sea under the guidance of the crew. Help set and trim the sails, learn about navigation, be on the lookout and and help keep the ship in order, both on deck and below. Meet new people amongst your fellow trainees, be amazed at the coastal scenery of the UK, and learn to find your balance on a ship that encourages spectacular sailing. Feast your eyes on the beautiful wooden boats in Falmouth’s port on your first night on board. The next day you will set sail and head to the Isles of Scilly for a stop. Then across the Irish Sea with a possible stop in Wales. Last stop will be Liverpool. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Falmouth lies near the southwestern tip of the United Kingdom. It’s a quaint port town, surrounded by grassy hills and forests, and famous for its harbor. Going on a hike here is very rewarding! Sailing is a popular pastime in Falmouth, so don’t be surprised if you’re engaged in a lively discussion on the finer points of navigation over a beer in one of the local pubs. Falmouth has been a kind port to Tall Ships, hosting the Tall Ships Races in 1966, 1982, and 1998.

Liverpool enjoys ‘The most splendid setting of any English city’, on Liverpool bay of the Irish Sea. The city has long been on the forefront of maritime and industrial development, and boasts several UNESCO World Heritage sites, so there’s plenty to see and do. Find a map and visit the many landmarks & museums, or spend some time at the most impressive waterfront of the world. When the sun goes down, Liverpool’s vibrant nightlife will keep you entertained every night of the year!
