Kapitan Borchardt:
Wilhelmshaven (DE) - Oostende (BE)

16 May - 26 May 2016

Sail along on this beautiful classic Polish sailing ship at the East Sea and North Sea. You will start in Wilhelmshaven, cross the Kielercanal and you will end up in Oostende. When the wind is well and the direction okay the ship will have time for some stop(s) or anghoring. Each day will be different. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Wilhelmshaven is a town on the coast in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the western side of the Jade Bight, a bay of the North Sea. It is adjacent to the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park (part of UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site). Wilhelmshaven is Germany’s only deep-water port, and its largest naval base. Go visit the marine museum, coastal museum, aquarium, UNESCO World Heritage Site Wadden Sea Visitor centre or the "Botanischer Garten". Or just walk around, enjoy.

Oostende is a seaport and tourism destination on the Belgian coast. The original belle époque architecture was largely destroyed by two world wars (and the advent of mass tourism), but the city still has plenty of worthwhile sights to see, such as the Mu.ZEE, the Petrus and Paulus church, and the fort Napolean. Visit one of the museums, check out the lively cultural agenda, and check out a Belgian tavern for a ‘pinteke’. And don’t forget the beach, which can be crowded in the summer!
