*FULLY BOOKED* The Tall Ships Races 2022: Race 1. Find the green hull of Alexander von Humboldt II moored among other Tall Ships gathered in Esbjerg for the starting event of this year’s Races. The next day you will leave the port in a Parade of Sail, before making your way to the starting line of Race 1! From then on, it’s a great adventure! Divided into watches you will sail the Ship, from steering and navigating to trimming the sails and climbing the masts. Reach Harlingen two days before you’re scheduled to disembark. In that time you will get to enjoy crew-exclusive activities in porta and meet the crews of other vessels. IMPORTANT: The official language on board is German. The price includes additional €50 for harbor fees, pilotage, etc. Due to Coronavirus currently you must be fully vaccinated in order to join the journey and take a quick antigen test before embarkation (test included in the boardprice). For all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Esbjerg is a beautiful coastal city in the South-West of Denmark, with the second biggest harbour in Denmark – a lively place full of fishing and shipping activities. You can observe the town’s maritime history in its attractions: from the Fisheries- and Maritime Museum, Esbjerg Skibet statue to the Men at Sea monument, everything brings you back to the sea. Visit also the Ribe Vikinge Center, a fun outdoor museum where you will meet the Vikings themselves!

Harlingen is a historic trade and fishing port in Friesland, the Netherlands, with roots going back over a thousand years. Its charming old town features well-preserved streets and buildings, perfect for exploring on foot. Despite its small size, Harlingen has a lively atmosphere and was a proud port of call for the Tall Ships Races in 2022. With its gezellig pubs and welcoming vibe, Harlingen is an ideal stopover for any traveler.

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

 

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends.
