Alexander von Humboldt II:
Palma de Mallorca (ES) - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ES)

03 November - 17 November 2015

Palma de Mallorca – Casablance – Las Palmas. You will leave Palma de Mallorca to set course to Casablance. The city is known for the amount of white buildings situated around the harbour. It is also the largest city of Morocco. After Casablanca you will set course to Las Palmas. Discover the waters around the Canary Islands. This Journey will be a whole new world for your senses. Feel the winds, hear the nature surrounding you. Relax in the warmth of the subtropical climate. Navigate between the islands and end your Journey on one of the famous Canary Islands, Gran Canaria. Open to all ages, minimum age 14 years.

Ports

Palma de Mallorca, capital of the Balearic Islands, was first settled by the Romans. Evidence of over two thousand years of history can still be seen all over town. Visit the unique Bellver Castle, The Royal Palace of La Almundaina, and Palma’s silk exchange as examples of the town’s architecture. Palma de Mallorca is a festive town with plenty to see and do. Over 20 million tourists visit the city each year, but there are plenty of opportunities to escape the masses and explore for yourself.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a cosmopolitan town, the shared capital (with Santa Cruz) of the Canary Islands. Situated on the ‘wet’ north side, the city feels more authentic than the touristy places on the ‘dry’ south side. Las Palmas offers beaches, cheap shopping, culture and excitement with a night life, primarily in the district of Vegueta. Its culture is decidedly Spanish, mixed with influences from all over the world, as Las Palmas’ port has been in operation for centuries.
