Alexander von Humboldt II:
Setubal (PT) - Bordeaux (FR)

25 March - 05 April 2019

This exciting, early-spring journey will take you from Setubal, near Lisbon, along the coast of Portugal and northern Spain to Bordeaux in France. Prepare to steer the Ship, look out for other vessels, trim the sails, and – if you want – climb the masts and see the world from way up high. The official language on board is German. Additional fee applies: € 50,- per person for harbor fees, pilotage, etc. Surcharge for 2-bed cabin 25% p.p. For all Windseekers, minimum age 18 years.

Ports

Setubal is a port city in Portugal, about 50 km from Lisbon. For the local feeligh visit the fish market Mercado do Livramento, take a stroll through the Doca dos Pescadores fishing harbour and have seafood in one of the multiple local restaurants. You can also choose to walk around the old town or the waterfront, or relax on a nearby beach.

Bordeaux is famous for its wine, but the city itself also has a lot to offer. The cathedral, the Place des Quinconces and the Port de La Lune will have you gazing in amazement. The city also has a diverse cultural agenda and a bustling nightlife. To the south of the city you’ll find sandy beaches with enormous dunes that offer great surfing conditions on the waves of the Atlantic ocean. Every two years Bordeaux organizes a harbor festival, with many Tall Ships visiting.
