Anne-Margaretha:
Cape Town (ZA) - Azores (PT)

03 May - 19 June 2015

Embark on an epic sailing adventure, on the historical route across the Atlantic Ocean from South to North with the Anne-Margaretha. From Cape Town to St Helena, and including a visit to Ascension Island if the weather permits. Imagine yourself surrounded by nothing but the great blue ocean. Live life on the rythm of the waves. Look for whales and dolphins: you are very likely to spot these animals around this time of year. Learn how to navigate, set and trim the sails, and help do whatever needs done on board – the crew is counting on you to pitch in! After 48 days on the ship you’ll be an experienced, able sailor. See it all, do it all, with the Anne-Margaretha! Now with a special last minute price: 2550 EUR. Open for all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Cape Town, close to Cape of Good Hope, is a wonderful place where African and European cultures mix and match in interesting ways. The city offers lots of entertainment and fine cuisine, and there is much to see! Visit the Table Mountain, saunter along the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, check out Robben Island where Nelson Mandela used to be imprisoned, and of course no Windseeker's visit is complete without a trip to Cape Point. If you have time, a drive along the coast is highly recommended!

The Azores are an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, a welcome port of call for ships crossing the Atlantic. Nine of the seventeen volcanic islands are inhabited, with São Miguel and Faial as main population centres. Horta on Faial is a traditional stopover destination for passing ships. The Azores value sustainable tourism, and are rightly proud of their beautiful islands. Whale spotting is a popular activity on the waters around the islands, but the mountainous landscape is equally compelling.
