Antwerp Flyer:
Nieuwpoort (BE) - Belfast (GB)

25 June - 04 July 2015

Sail with Antwerp Flyer from Belgium to Northern Ireland, across the English Channel and up the Irish Sea on this delivery Journey. The English Channel is one of the busiest trading routes in the World, so keep a sharp eye on the traffic as you help the crew with trimming the sails. Once you reach the British coast you’ll be met with beautiful vistas, and perhaps there’s time for a short stop in a town or near a beach? But make no mistake: this is primarily a sailing Journey, so expect to be on deck both during the day and night. Together you and the crew harness the elements to get Antwerp Flyer to Belfast, in time for the Tall Ships Races 2015. Open to Windseekers of all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Nieuwpoort, on the Belgian coast, is a smal town and port. It has historically been the theatre of many battles, and that alone makes Nieuwpoort well worth a visit. Walk around the old town centre and you'll see several historic buildings. And if you're up for a bit more action, the beach and the dunes will offer opportunities for a swim, a run, and many different water activities. Close to Nieuwpoort you'll find the historic cities of Gent and Bruges, both excellent options for a city trip.

Belfast is the capital and the largest city of Northern Ireland. It started out as a small hamlet with fertile land along the mouth of the Lagan. Soon, marauders and pirates realised Belfast’s lough was deep and their shores were the perfect haven for repairing sea ravaged ships. Today Belfast is a wonderful city to explore! Visit the Titanic quarter waterfront, the Ulster Museum, or the Odyssey area where you'll find lots of entertainment. And spend some time in one of Belfast's many pubs.
