Atyla:
Santa Cruz de Tenerife (ES) - Ponta Delgada, Azores (PT)

25 September - 07 October 2021

From Canary Islands to the Azores. This journey will start in Santa Cruz, the lively capital of Tenerife where, after meeting the other adventurers and getting settled on board, you’ll have a chance to go explore the city. The next day you will start making our way to the Azores. During the trip, you will experience all the joys of sailing on Atyla. The breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, taking the wheel, setting the sails, making friends from different places, and facing interesting challenges along the way. You might even climb up the rigging if you are up for it. If the weather allows, you will stop in Madeira, before arriving in Sao Miguel island on the 5th of October to enjoy the last moments of your trip in Ponta Delgada. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. Covid-related conditions: most likely everyone will be asked to take an antigen test before boarding the Ship. You will receive the details shortly before your trip starts in order to ensure we are complying with the latest official guidelines. Sail as a trainee for a full Tall Ship experience and participate in all activities on board as part of the (trainee) crew. Or join as a guest and choose which activities you want to take part in.

Ports

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the shared capital of the Canary Islands, together with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The central square Plaza de España is a real eye-catcher, situated between the ocean and the old, bustling city centre. Lose yourself in the crowded alleys, find a spot on one of the terraces, or leave town and discover the rugged volcanic landscape. The museum of Nature and Man is worth a visit. Chances are you’ll find pilot whales in the waters around Tenerife, so keep an eye out!

Ponta Delgada is the capital of the Azores - a Portuguese archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It's located on the São Miguel Island. The city dates back to the 15th century, when a fishing village was first established in the area. The beautiful architecture makes Ponta Delgada a charming place to walk through. Spend some time discovering the City Gates and the City Hall, before relaxing in the Campo de São Francisco square. Don't miss the magnificent botanical garden!

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
