Voyage of 67 days! Get ready for the ultimate Ocean Sailing Voyage. Cape town – Ascension Island with a visit to the beautiful island of St Helena. Cross the equator and sail thousands of miles on the open ocean. Visit the World’s remotest populated archipelago, and learn all there is to learn about life at sea on board the Bark Europa. You will make a stop at the famous ile of the Azores and visit the harbor of Horta. You and your fellow shipmates will embark on a journey of discovery, making new friends and becoming an able sailor. Learn to set and trim the sails, navigation, steering, maintenance, and help keep the ship clean. Do odd jobs on deck and below, and spend time with your favorite book. At night you and your watch group have the deck to yourself. Braving the elements, leisure, discovery, and cameradery… this is what a journey is all about! Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Brest is a major French port on the Atlantic coast, historically of strategic importance. Much of the town was destroyed during World War II, but some historic landmarks remain. Today Brest is an important navy port, so expect to see war ships berthed in the harbor. Every four years, Brest hosts the international festival of the sea, boats and sailors, with many Tall Ships attending. South of Brest you will find national park d’Armorique, a tranquil reserve where you can escape from the city.
