Blue Clipper:
Ålesund (NO) - Weymouth (GB)

10 September - 22 September 2018

* NEW PRICE – valid until the end of August * This delivery voyage is excellent for gaining sailing experience and confidence. Unlike a lot of other Blue Clipper trips, this is a hands-on experience, where everyone gets fully involved in sailing the Ship. You will sail from Norway to the south coast of England during the course of 12 days, making approx. 1,000 nautical miles on the way. Open to Windseekers of all ages, minimum age 15 years. Join two trips and sail from Alesund to A Coruna for EUR 2,000 – see the other journey.

Ports

Ålesund is an intimate harbor amongst beautiful fjords, mountains and islands. Consisting out of seven islands, Ålesund is a modern city. In 1904 the city, once built largely of wood, was completely burned down by a sea of flames. After a period of planning, the town was rebuilt in stone, brick, and mortar in Jugendstil. Visit the Atlantic Sea Park on a rainy day or, if the weather is nice, go to the Sunnmoere Museum to see historic Norwegian houses and Viking relics.

Weymouth is a state-of-the-art centre for water sports, and played host to the sailing regattas of the 2012 Olympic games. The town is a popular seaside spot with a nice beach, even though some of it is rather kitschy. Weymouth has just about the sunniest climate of the United Kingdom, further contributing to the town’s holiday feel. Weymouth is great for windsurfing, kitesurfing, diving and sailing. If you want to stretch your legs, the surrounding countryside offers many options for a hike.
