Aberdeen (GB) - Aalborg (DK)

27 June - 05 July 2019

Delivery to the Tall Ships Races – adult voyage across the North Sea. Join Challenge Wales in Aberdeen, Scotland and embark on an adventurous journey to Denmark. Spend over a week on board, enough time to learn about sailing and get your sea legs! Cross the North Sea over several days of non-stop sailing. Become part of the crew, working in shifts – watches – day and night to keep the Challenge Wales on course. Finally, after a few days of nothing but the sea, sky, sunsets and stars, you will see land again! Reach Aalborg in the north of Denmark and enjoy the maritime festival. Dozens of Tall Ships, Small Ships and Yachts will arrive around the same time, their international crews ready to celebrate. Join the exclusive activities for crews and enjoy exchanging your sailing stories with others. This is an adult voyage for Windseekers aged 18-75.

Ports

Aberdeen, the silver city with the golden sands, lies on the Scottish east coast. The city has been settled for over 8000 years, so you’ll find plenty of historic landmarks as you amble across town. Aberdeen is also famous for its many parks and gardens. The city hosts several festivals year round, so check out the cultural agenda while you’re there. And take some time to spend in one of the many wonderful pubs, where you can strike up a conversation with the locals. But don’t peek under kilts!

Aalborg has shared a special connection with The Tall Ships Races since first hosting the event in 1999. Located on the Limfjord, the city was founded by Vikings over a thousand years ago and still proudly showcases its historic roots. Today, Aalborg is a modern, vibrant city with a rich cultural scene – home to theatres, a symphony orchestra, museums, and performance venues. It’s the perfect place to relax and reflect after an unforgettable sailing adventure.
