Join the magnificent Gulden Leeuw for the first race of the 2022 event on the North Sea. Step on board in Danish Esbjerg and sail out among the crowds watching the Parade of Sail from shore. Make your way to the starting line and set on a race across the sea towards Harlingen. Along the way you will learn how to sail a Tall Ship from experienced crew: each day you will do more on your own, from setting sails to steering and navigating! You will also make friends from different countries, have the chance to relax on deck after your watches and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. You will spend the last two days in Harilngen, participating in harbour events, together with the international crews of other Tall Ships. For Windseekers aged 15-25, ages 26-28 at request.

Esbjerg is a beautiful coastal city in the South-West of Denmark, with the second biggest harbour in Denmark – a lively place full of fishing and shipping activities. You can observe the town’s maritime history in its attractions: from the Fisheries- and Maritime Museum, Esbjerg Skibet statue to the Men at Sea monument, everything brings you back to the sea. Visit also the Ribe Vikinge Center, a fun outdoor museum where you will meet the Vikings themselves!

Harlingen is a historic trade and fishing port in Friesland, the Netherlands, with roots going back over a thousand years. Its charming old town features well-preserved streets and buildings, perfect for exploring on foot. Despite its small size, Harlingen has a lively atmosphere and was a proud port of call for the Tall Ships Races in 2022. With its gezellig pubs and welcoming vibe, Harlingen is an ideal stopover for any traveler.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends.
