Gulden Leeuw:
Esbjerg (DK) - Tanager (NO) - Stavanger (NO)

20 July - 27 July 2018

Hop-on, hop-off tour of the Norwegian coast. Leave the second Tall Ships Races port of Esbjerg in a fleet of dozens of vessels. Sail across the North Sea to Norway and spend the time discovering the coastal towns: Lindesnes, Sirevag and Tanager – before reaching Stavanger. This trip is an intense sightseeing opportunity for anyone interested in the ports as much as sailing. Take part in a festival in Lindesnes, visit a medieval church in Sirevag and check out the fishing museum in Tanager, with a dose of sailing on a large Tall Ship in between! You can also embark in other ports along the way – see the following journeys. Open for all Windseekers aged 15 and older. If you’d like to disembark in a port other than Stavanger, please contact us at info@windseeker.org

Ports

Esbjerg is a beautiful coastal city in the South-West of Denmark, with the second biggest harbour in Denmark – a lively place full of fishing and shipping activities. You can observe the town’s maritime history in its attractions: from the Fisheries- and Maritime Museum, Esbjerg Skibet statue to the Men at Sea monument, everything brings you back to the sea. Visit also the Ribe Vikinge Center, a fun outdoor museum where you will meet the Vikings themselves!

Stavanger is a vibrant modern port with a charming historic district. Its picturesque old harbour offers a lively atmosphere right in the heart of the city. Stavanger boasts a rich cultural scene and is the perfect gateway to some of Norway’s most stunning natural landscapes. Don’t forget your hiking boots – the surrounding mountains promise unforgettable views. Discover the dramatic Lysefjord, hike to the famous Preikestolen and Kjerag cliffs, or unwind on the sandy beaches of Jæren.
