Morgenster:
Antwerp (BE) - Aalborg (DK)

24 July - 06 August 2022

*Last place available* International Exchange at The Tall Ships Races 2022: Race 2. The Morgenster will wait for you in the Belgian port city of Antwerp, ready to welcome you on board. Spend the evening meeting your shipmates, and get some rest before setting sail in the morning. Learn to sail a traditional Tall Ship, from setting sails to navigating, while making international friends and trying to win the race. Spend days on the North Sea, sailing in shifts – day and night – to reach your destination. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know, and the mentors will organise games and propose fun activities. Enjoy being out on the open sea, admiring the sunset from up on the mast, trying national dishes of other countries and looking for dolphins. Finish the race and enter Aalborg in Denmark, with two days left on board to participate in crew activities: Crew Party, Crew Parade, games, competitions and much more! For Windseekers aged 15-25 years, 26-28 at request.

Ports

Antwerp is a beauitful Belgian city on the River Scheldt, connected to the North Sea via the Westerschelde estuary. With deep maritime roots, it’s home to one of the world’s largest ports. Arriving by train? You’ll be welcomed by the stunning Antwerpen-Centraal station. Art enthusiasts will enjoy the Rubens House and the contemporary Museum aan de Stroom, while Chocolate Nation, the world’s largest Belgian chocolate museum, offers a delicious experience for just about everyone.

Aalborg has shared a special connection with The Tall Ships Races since first hosting the event in 1999. Located on the Limfjord, the city was founded by Vikings over a thousand years ago and still proudly showcases its historic roots. Today, Aalborg is a modern, vibrant city with a rich cultural scene – home to theatres, a symphony orchestra, museums, and performance venues. It’s the perfect place to relax and reflect after an unforgettable sailing adventure.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
