Oosterschelde:
Nassau (BS) - Norfolk (US)

30 May - 09 June 2026

Step on board the Oosterschelde for an adventurous sailing voyage from the Bahamas to the United States! Discover the northern Bahamas, experience the power of the Gulf Stream, and sail into the maritime capital of Virginia. Hoist the anchor and sail to the Grand Bahama island, taking some time to explore its markets and coral reefs before embarking on a crossing to the US. Spend several days sailing eastwards, getting into the rhythm of life at sea, marked by day and night watches. Experience the Atlantic Ocean as you watch the sun set over the horizon, and dolphins play next to the ship. Finally, after days at sea, you will reach Norfolk, the atmospheric maritime capital of Virginia, where you will say goodbye to the Oosterschelde and the friends you made along the way.
Open to all Windseekers aged 18+. Younger trainees, accompanied by an adult, at request.

Ports

Nassau is the capital city of the Bahamas, founded in 1670 by the British. In the early 18th century it was a pirate center, with many infamous pirates dwelling there. The town is full of colonial architecture and its tropical location and busy port make it a popular tourist destination. Try the local rum and cigars, and don’t forget about the food! Follow up with a relaxing time on a white beach or try one of the many offered water sports for an adrenaline kick.

Norfolk is a city in the Virginia state, USA. Since its establishment in the 17th century, Norfolk has been an important shipbuilding and maritime trade center. The Naval Station Norfolk remains the world’s largest naval base since 1917. It’s also a destination for sailing vessels, notably taking part in Operation Sail, as well as Sail 250 for the anniversary of the funding of the United States. Some of the attractions include Nauticus maritime discovery center, or the Chrystler Museum of Art.
