Oosterschelde:
Lunenburg (CA) - A Coruña (ES)

04 August - 25 August 2026

Sail across the Atlantic on a tall ship in this adventurous voyage perfect for your bucket list! Step on board the Oosterschelde in Lunenburg and sail out of Mahone Bay, making your way to the open ocean. Once on open water, you’ll set the first sails. During the voyage, you will be part of the crew: actively helping to hoist and trim the sails, navigate, and steer. You will take the northerly route, with its favourable winds, but a chance of rougher weather, with strong winds and heavy swell. Fortunately, it is summer, and the Oosterschelde has proven herself many times before. Between watches there will be plenty of time to enjoy being out on the Atlantic, make friends, and watch dolphins and sea birds. After weeks at sea, the rugged north coast of Spain finally appears on the horizon. The Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse built by the Romans, will guide you towards the fishing town of A Coruña. Here, you’ll celebrate your arrival with an enjoyable evening on deck. You will return home with an extraordinary experience: you have crossed the Atlantic Ocean!
Open to all Windseekers aged 18+. Younger trainees, accompanied by an adult, at request.

Ports

Lunenburg is a Canadian port town in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Historically the town was involved in several wars, including the American Revolution. Today the town is a fishery port and has several small shipyards that have managed to preserve the skills of the sailing era. Did you know that the replica of the ‘Bounty’ was built here? Visit the historic city centre on foot or by horse and carriage, and enjoy a leisurely hike in the grassy hills of the surrounding countryside.

A Coruña is a port town in the north west of Spain. Here you will find the Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse that has been in operation for 1.800 years! The town itself is an affluent commercial and tourism hub, with plenty of things to see and do. Visit the popular beaches, explore the city centre, or sample some of the many cultural activities. The Aquarium Finisterrae lets you explore the marine life of the region. But if you prefer your fish on a plate, A Coruña’s restaurants can help you out.
