DARWIN200 Global Voyage: Leg 32. Join the final leg of Charles Darwin’s expdition on board the Oosterschelde. While sailing from the Azores back to Europe look for sunfish, dolphins, whales, blue sharks and (if you are lucky), giant basking sharks! Reach Falmouth and step ashore on the very docks where Darwin’s voyage on HMS Beagle ended. Participants of all voyage legs are invited to a party on the evening of 20/07/2025 to mark the successful conclusion of the DARWIN200 Global Voyage!
There is no more Covid-19 protocol on board, but the participants must make sure that they comply with the rules of the countries visited during the Journeys.

Ports

Horta is situated in the western part of the Archipelago of the Azores on the island of Faial. The marina is a primary stop for yachts crossing the Atlantic. Its walls and walkways are covered in paintings created by the crews of visiting ships. Peter's Cafe Sport, located across from the marina, houses the island's scrimshaw museum. A collection of artefacts carved from whale tooth and jawbone. This café is a point of reference for trans-Atlantic yachtsmen and sailors.

Falmouth lies near the southwestern tip of the United Kingdom. It’s a quaint port town, surrounded by grassy hills and forests, and famous for its harbor. Going on a hike here is very rewarding! Sailing is a popular pastime in Falmouth, so don’t be surprised if you’re engaged in a lively discussion on the finer points of navigation over a beer in one of the local pubs. Falmouth has been a kind port to Tall Ships, hosting the Tall Ships Races in 1966, 1982, and 1998.
