Oostende (BE) - Bornholm (DK) - Klaipéda (LT)

15 June - 29 June 2024

Delivery to the Tall Ships Races. Why wait to start the Tall Ships Races adventure, and fly to Klaipeda, when you can reach the port by sailing? Join Patricia in Oostende, Belgium, for a sailing trip across the seas. Make your way up the coasts of Belgium and the Netherlands, and visit the beautiful island of Helgoland, before entering the Baltic Sea via the Kiel Canal. Make a stop on Bornholm, a picturesque Danish island, before embarking on the last crossing to Klaipeda, where you will join the festivities for the Tall Ships Races.
Important: the meals when Patricia is in ports are not included in the journey price. For all Windseekers aged 18+.

Ports

Oostende is a seaport and tourist destination on the Belgian coast. The original belle époque architecture was largely destroyed by two world wars (and the advent of mass tourism), but the city still has plenty of worthwhile sights to see, such as the Mu.ZEE, the Petrus and Paulus church, and the fort Napolean. Visit one of the museums, check out the lively cultural agenda, and step in a Belgian tavern for a ‘pinteke’. And don’t forget the beach, which can be crowded in the summer!

Klaipéda is a city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast. The city has long maritime traditions - it even hosts its own Sea Festival in July! - and its architecture bears influences from several different cultures (French, German, Swedish). Take a walk down the Friedricho pasažas, visit the reconstructed Meridianas ship, find the quirky Golden Mouse sculpture and visit the Clock Museum.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
