The Tall Ships Races 2024: Cruise in Company 2. Have you ever been to the Aland Islands? This beautiful archipelago is situated right between Finland and Sweden. A lot of the islands can only be visited by boat, which makes visiting them feel like a true adventure. The stunning landscapes and unspoilt nature are great rewards for anyone taking the trouble to get there. Become one of those few people by joining Patricia for the Journey from Turku to Mariehamn. Learn to sail, and explore the islands, while making new friends on board. Reach your destination with two days left, to spend them in the harbour, participating in the Tall Ships Races festival with other crews.

Turku is a Finnish city dating back to the XIII century. Join in the ships' spectacular route through the Turku Archipelago before being brought right into the middle of the city on the banks of the Aura River. Walk the cobblestone streets, visit the medieval castle, Forum Marinum maritime centre, or one of many art museums. Take a stroll down the river bank to find your favourite little restaurant or cafe.

Mariehamn is the capital of Aland Islands, an autonomous archipelago off the coast of Finland. The town has maritime ties, seen when visiting the Aaland Maritime Museum and the impressive Pommern museumship. Don't miss the old Maritime Quarter with its old fishermen houses and boats. With less than 12,000 inhabitants Mariehamn has a cozy and friendly atmosphere.

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

 

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee.
