Sorlandet:
Kristiansand (NO) - Belfast (GB)

27 June - 02 July 2015

Sometimes it’s nice to stop for a moment. Be present. Enjoy the scenery. Breathe the fresh air. Once on board you will discover a new world. Let yourself be fascinated by all the new and unknown. After a day or two, you’ve forgotten what it’s like back home. Instead, you are completely present when you are at the helm and in control of a 65-metre long sailing ship. Or you heave and haul the ship ropes to catch the wind along with your new shipmates. Maybe you are on the night watch and bask in the sunrise with a steaming cup of fresh coffee? Small moments turn into great adventures. Such is life on board the world’s oldest and best preserved full-rigged ship. Along the way, you will certainly want to take some time to take a look at one of our modern wonders – oil platforms – before we start our voyage along the Scottish coast. Evergreen landscape in sight. Dramatic scenery. We are closing in on our goal. BELFAST and four festive days at the Tall Ships Races. Open to all ages, minimum age 12 years. Age 12-15 year by an accompanied by an adult/parent.

Ports

Kristiansand is the business and cultural capital of southern Norway. The sea and surrounding fjords are perfect for recreational activities like fishing and sailing, and the nearby inland and mountains are ideal for skiing and hiking. In the more urban areas you will find a rich variety of cafes, restaurants, art galleries and museums.

Belfast is the capital and the largest city of Northern Ireland. It started out as a small hamlet with fertile land along the mouth of the Lagan. Soon, marauders and pirates realised Belfast’s lough was deep and their shores were the perfect haven for repairing sea ravaged ships. Today Belfast is a wonderful city to explore! Visit the Titanic quarter waterfront, the Ulster Museum, or the Odyssey area where you'll find lots of entertainment. And spend some time in one of Belfast's many pubs.
