Stad Amsterdam:
Hamburg (DE) - Oslo (NO)

17 September - 22 September 2015

Along the Danish coast to Norway -On September 17th we will leave the harbor of Hamburg and after one final look at the huge container ships, the majestic ocean liners and the luxury yachts, we set sail to the capital of Norway: Oslo! During the first part of the voyage you will be sailing along the beautiful west coast of Denmark characterized by countless bays and inlets. You will experience what it is like to sail on a Clipper ship and you will enjoy her in full glory. The peacefulness at sea and the magnificence of the sunrises and sunsets will surely amaze you. The adventure on the North Sea will continue until we reach the southernmost part of Norway and sail along the coast. Weather permitting we will interrupt our journey for a short stop at the city of Kristiansand and/or Arendal. The Norwegian skerry coast and the very impressive Oslo fjord with a length of 107 kilometers, will finally lead us to Norway’s capital city. The definite ending of this adventurous sailing trip. The next morning at 10:00 the crew of the Clipper Stad Amsterdam will say goodbye to you. If you decide to join us on the journey to Copenhagen later on after spending a few days in Oslo, you are more than welcome to embark again on September 24th. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

The port of Hamburg, on the river Elbe, is the second largest port in Europe. Hamburg has more than 40 theatres, 60 museums and 100 music venues and clubs. Hamburg was awarded the title of European Green Capital for 2011. Hamburg is noted for several festivals and regular events. Hafengeburtstag is a funfair to honor the birthday of the port of Hamburg with a party and a ship parade. Christmas markets in December are held at the Hamburg Rathaus square, among other places.

Visit Oslo and experience its rich cultural life. The 1000-year-old Norwegian capital sits at the head of Oslo Fjord. This stunning setting gives hints of the wild wonders that lie just beyond the city. From taking in visual delights at Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Holmenkollen, to the new Nobel Peace Centre and the Holocoust Centre, Oslo offers plenty of food for thought. Did you know that Oslo is a forerunner on sustainability and environmental policy?
