Puerto Williams (CL) - Antarctica (AQ) - Puerto Williams (CL)

19 January - 08 February 2023

Exploring the Antarctic Peninsula. When starting the crossing of the infamous Drake passage, the Elephant Island will be your first land fall. Following this chain of Islands you will come to the South Shetland Islands. From there the journey will continue to take in the sights of the great white continent. Possible places to visit are Half-moon bay, Paradise harbour, Port Lockroy. It is very likely that you’ll end up in the company of humpback and fin whales. You can also expect many penguins and a great variety of seals. If the ice allows, Tecla might then transit the Le Maire channel with its awesome views, before sailing back to Chile. Please be aware that all landing sites depend on wind, weather and ice conditions. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Puerto Williams is a city in southern Chile, located on the Beagle Channel. The location makes it a perfect starting point for visits to Antarctica and Cape Horn. If you're ready for more adventures after your journey, you can go on a hike in the nearby mountains. For a more relaxed time, visit Martin Gusinde Anthropological Museum, known as the southernmost museum in the world! There you can learn about local history (dating back 10,000 years!) as well as the natural environment.
