Ullapool (GB) - St. Kilda (GB) - Ullapool (GB)

23 April - 30 April 2019

Sailing to St. Kilda and the Outer Hebrides. Depending on the wind a plan will be made to get to St. Kilda, a unique, island which – these days – is uninhabited. Because of that, a number of birds are now nesting there, including the Puffins, Northern Gannets and Leach Petrels. You can only reach the island by boat and not many people take on that challenge. Even if the weather doesn’t allow you for a sail to St. Kilda, you will still make your way to other Scottish islands: perhaps a bit less isolated, but no less fascinating to discover! Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Ullapool, despite its small size is the largest settlement for many miles around and a major tourist destination of Scotland. The village was founded in 1788 as a herring port by the British Fisheries Society. A few Cordyline australis or New Zealand cabbage trees are grown in the town and are often mistaken for palms. The harbour is still the edge of the village, used as a fishing port, yachting haven, and ferry port. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings here.
