Tenacious:
Port Stanley (FK) - Cape Town (ZA)

26 February - 06 April 2018

40 days on board a Tall Ship sailing the South Atlantic. This is a unique opportunity to sail from the Falkland Islands to South Africa, visiting South Georgia in all its sub-Antarctic beauty. A world renowned explorer Skip Novak will be on board, helping you see the most of the remote island. Depending on the conditions there is a plan to stop at Tristan de Cunha, the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world, before sailing on to Cape Town. Join the voyage of a lifetime, get your sea legs and challenge yourself in a new way, while discovering the amazing nature of the South Atlantic Ocean. Open to all able-bodied and disabled trainees, minimum age 16 years.

Ports

Port Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands – a British overseas territory off the coast of Argentina. Take a trip to the Falkland Islands Museum to find out about the archipelago’s stormy past. A trek to the Gypsy Cove will reward you with beautiful views, including the seals and penguins, while the Christ Church Cathedral is the southernmost Anglican cathedral in the world! The shipwreck of 19th century Lady Elisabeth in Whalebone Cove is easily visible from the shore.

Cape Town, close to Cape of Good Hope, is a wonderful place where African and European cultures mix and match in interesting ways. The city offers lots of entertainment and fine cuisine, and there is much to see! Visit the Table Mountain, saunter along the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, check out Robben Island where Nelson Mandela used to be imprisoned, and of course no Windseeker’s visit is complete without a trip to Cape Point. If you have time, a drive along the coast is highly recommended!
