Ocean Sailing, part one. Help to bring the Oosterschelde to the ship’s usual winter destination: Cape Verde. Step on board in Rotterdam and sail along the English Channel, across the Bay of Biscay, down the coast of Portugal and Spain, and on towards Tenerife. Spend 20 days on board, gaining sailing experience, wonderful memories and new friends. If that’s not enough for you, combine this trip with the next one and sail all the way to Cape Verde for a special price (see: Rotterdam – Sal journey). Open for all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Rotterdam is the largest port of Europe, and a modern, bustling town. Much of the historic city centre was destroyed during World War II, but extensive rebuilding resulted in a modern, multicultural city with many architectural highlights. Rotterdam has excellent cultural facilities and a diverse nightlife; during the summer the city hosts a large number of events. Discover the city by bicycle or on foot – or take a train to the nearby Hague.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and a popular tourist destination. One of the largest Carnival festivals is hosted here, and for tourists there is a lot to see and do. But the island is large enough to escape mass tourism, so let its natural beauty seduce you to a hike or a drive around the island. You’ll find mountains to climb, cliffs overlooking bays, and ravines. The ‘Island of eternal spring’ is just what you need if you arrive fresh from your Journey!
