Charleston-Bermuda, Sail training voyage. You will embark in Charleston, that is hosting a Maritime Event in the weekend 19 – 21 May. Together with some of the other ships, we will start on 22 of May with the voyage to Bermuda which will be a 2017 sailing capital of the Atlantic. Expect many Tall Ships to gather there, as well as the crews of the 35th America’s Cup! Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.
The Port of Charleston is a seaport and the oldest city in South Carolina, US. The unique atmosphere is the result of numerous historical buildings and a cultural blend which includes English, French and West African elements. To sample this atmosphere you must try the local cuisine, take a walk to the Charleston City Market and attend one of the many cultural events throughout the year.
Bermuda is a group of low-forming volcanoes in the North Atlantic Ocean, consisting of 181 islands. The first known European explorer to reach Bermuda was Spanish sea captain Juan de Bermúdez in 1503, after whom the islands are named. Bermuda's culture is a mix of Native American, Spanish-Caribbean, English, Irish, and Scots. It is a British Overseas Territory. Bermuda has a humid subtropical climate, pink sand beaches and clear, cerulean blue ocean water. Go snorkeling to see the coral reef.
