Alexander von Humboldt II:
Bremerhaven (DE) - Bremerhaven (DE)

29 April - 02 May 2015

Big adventure in a small package! Join Alexander von Humboldt II for a short Sail Training journey on the Baltic Sea. Learn the ropes on deck, climb the rigging if you’re comfortable, and make fast friends with your fellow trainees. You’ll be in a watch system, so at night you have the deck to yourself as you sail under the stars – a magical experience! Help set and trim the sails, do odd jobs on deck and below, help to keep the ship clean, and learn about navigation. This Sail Training voyage is ideal to find out whether life at sea is something for you. Challenging enough to test your boundaries, short enough to fit in your life. Open to all ages, minimum age 14 years.

Ports

Bremerhaven is one of the most important German ports, playing a crucial role in Germany's trade. The town was founded in 1827, but settlements in the vicinity were settled as early as the 12th century. The main attractions for tourists are found at the Havenwelten and include the German Emigration Center and the German Maritime Museum, featuring the Hansekogge, a vintage cog dating from 1380, excavated in Bremen in 1962, and the historical harbour with a number of museum ships.
