Embark on a journey of discovery along the Norwegian fjords. You’ll join the Christian Radich during the Cruise in Company of the Tall Ships Races 2015. You’ll sail from the Norwegian port of Alesund to Kristiansand, making stops along the way. Visit quaint harbours, admire the rugged coastline, go for a swim in a 1000 meter deep inlet, or perhaps enjoy a beach barbecue? The Fjords were a particular highlight for trainees and crew during the Tall Ships Races 2014 and we are looking forward to visiting them again. Open to all ages, minimum age 12 years. 12 – 15 years guided by parent/adult. Pre-night and afternight possible. 60 EUR p.p.p.n. Windseekers age 15-25 years are allowed to stay 2 nights so they can join the crewparade and crewparty in Kristiansand!
Ålesund is once again host port for The Tall Ships Races in 2015. Ålesund harboured the event for the first time in 2001, in an intimate harbour amongst beautiful fjords, mountains and islands. Consisting out of seven islands, Ålesund is a modern city. In 1904 the city, once built largely of wood, was completely burned down by a sea of flames. After a period of planning, the town was rebuilt in stone, brick, and mortar in Jugendstil.
Kristiansand is the business and cultural capital of southern Norway. The sea and surrounding fjords are perfect for recreational activities like fishing and sailing, and the nearby inland and mountains are ideal for skiing and hiking. In the more urban areas you will find a rich variety of cafes, restaurants, art galleries and museums.
