Tall Ships Races Magellan – Elcano, Cruise in Company. Explore the coast of Spain and Portugal and participate in a sailing festival in Lisbon. Join the Maybe in A Coruna, where other ships will be gathered. Leave the harbour together, in a Parade of Sail, among thousands of spectators on land. Then embark on a journey towards the capital of Portugal. Because this is a Cruise in Company, you don’t have to hurry and you can take your time sailing. Depending on the conditions you might stop along the way to visit a smaller port, or drop the anchor in the middle of the sea and jump into the water to cool off. Once in Lisbon, you will spend the last two days participating in the Tall Ships festival. Join crew-exclusive events to meet other sailors and enjoy the atmosphere of a maritime event. For all Windseekers over 18 years old.

Ports

A Coruña is a port town in the north west of Spain. Here you will find the Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse that has been in operation for 1.800 years! The town itself is an affluent commercial and tourism hub, with plenty of things to see and do. Visit the popular beaches, explore the city centre, or sample some of the many cultural activities. The Aquarium Finisterrae lets you explore the marine life of the region. But if you prefer your fish on a plate, A Coruña’s restaurants can help you out.

Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

 

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee.
