Sailing to The Tall Ships Races. Join the Morgenster in her home port Den Helder in the Netherlands, and make your way towards the first port of the 70th Tall Ships Races! Leave the harbour and take northerly course, joining the other sailors in climbing the masts, hoisting the sails, steering and navigating, as you sail towards Aarhus. Along the way you will get a taste of life at sea, make new friends, and take a break from the busy life to enjoy the elements. No experience needed: the experienced crew will teach you everything you need to safely sail a tall ship.
Important: this journey ends a day before the embarkation for Race 1. Please keep this in mind if you’re planning on joining the next journey and arrange alternative accommodation for the night.
Open to Windseekers aged 15 and older.

Ports

Den Helder is a beautiful town in the Netherlands, situated at the very tip of the North Holland province, regularly hosting the Tall Ships events. Discover the town’s sea connections by visiting the Marinemuseum and Nationaal Reddingmuseum Dorus Rijkers. Take a break and go for a walk in the botanical gardens Oranjerie De Groene Parel Den Helder or admire sea life in the Fort Kijkduin Museum and Aquarium.

Aarhus is a port city on the northeast coast of Jutland, Denmark. One of its highlights is Den Gamle By, an open-air museum featuring historic buildings from across the country. The impressive 13th-century cathedral is another must-see. With its laid-back atmosphere and plenty to explore, Aarhus is a favourite among tall ship crews who return again and again. Just west of the city, lakes and forests offer great hiking opportunities for those looking to enjoy the outdoors.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee.
