Morgenster:
Martinique (MQ) - Saint Martin (FR)

30 January - 09 February 2023

Start your adventure in Martinique, called “the Island of Flowers” and set course north, towards St. Maarten. Visit the volcanic Dominica with its lush rainforests and make a stop by in Guadeloupe islands for a relaxing time on a white-sand beach. Then embark on a longer crossing, sailing the Morgenster overnight towards Antigua and Barbuda. Visit Saint Eustace, home to a huge underwater nature reserve featuring pristine coral reefs and 18th century ship wrecks, before reaching your destination: a French/Dutch island of St. Maarten. The itinerary of this journey is not fully set, and both the winds and the preferences of trainees will be taken into consideration when choosing the exact route. Open to all Windseekers over 18 years old (please note that this is not a youth voyage and we expect a big variety of ages on board).

Ports

Martinique is an island on the Eastern Caribbean Sea and an overseas territory of France. With its white sandy beaches, clear blue water and green hills it is the picture of a tropical paradise. Enjoy the unique culture of the island with its Creole and French influences and the multicultural cuisine. Visit the Paul Gauguin Interpretation Centre, dedicated to the artist's brief but fruitful stay on the island. Participate in watersports or take a hike through the tropical forest.

Saint Martin is a Caribbean island, divided into a Dutch part and a French part. Its warm climate will help you adjust to the pace of life on the island, but if you want to do more than sip piña coladas, you'll find plenty to do. Visit the old fort St. Louis, overlooking Marigot bay, the French Quarter (Orleans), and Paradise Peak. Or stand at Princess Juliana Airport where you can nearly touch the planes as they fly over you. Discover the beautiful beaches of Simpson Bay and swim in the ocean.
