Oosterschelde:
Galapagos (EC) - Easter Island (CL)

19 May - 04 June 2024

DARWIN200 Global Voyage: Leg 16. Sail between two of the world’s most fascinating island groups. Explore the incredible Galapagos Islands before boarding for this leg and discover the wildlife that captivated Charles Darwin. At Easter Island marvel at the approx. 1,000 monumental statues, called moai, created by the early Rapa Nui people. In the waters around Easter Island, spot humpback whales, dolphins and (if you are lucky) giant blue whales. Flights connect with mainland Chile for easy onward travel. IMPORTANT: In order to join this journey you must send a proof of vaccination 48h prior to the embarkation. If the situation gives cause to do so, the crew can ask you to take a Sars-Cov-2 Antigen rapid test when you come on board. All Oosterschelde crew members are vaccinated.

Ports

Easter Island - or Rapa Nui - is a remote island on the Pacific Ocean. It belongs to Chile. Famous for its hundreds of giant stone statues (moai), Easter Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Go diving with the underwater moai, admire the Milky Way at night without the light pollution, explore the Anthropological Museum and try the local specialties for an all round experience.
