It’s another winter that the Ship will spend in Cape Verde, whose hospitality and beauty encourage the Oosterschelde to come back year after year. Step on board on the island of Sal, where you will also disembark after your trip. In the meantime you will visit at least 6 other islands – conditions permitting – from the most popular to very remote. Most days you will either sail or visit, while most nights will be spent on anchor. Take a break from winter and spend 10 days in the tropics, sailing and exploring exotic places. You can choose to visit the islands on your own or join organised excursions for additional fees (approx. € 140 in total, depending on the number of participants). Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Sal is one of the three sandy eastern islands of the Cape Verde archipelago, together with Boa Vista and Maio. The island is a dream destination for windsurfing enthusiasts, due to its sandy beaches and persistent winds. Tourism is on the rise in Cape Verde, but outside of the beach resort of Santa Maria the island retains its relaxed feel. Explore the quiet streets with their brightly colored houses, the blue eye cave, and the saline flats. The sun shines 350 days a year, so bring sunscreen!
