Tecla:
Aalborg (DK) - Bremerhaven (DE)

03 August - 11 August 2015

A great Sail Training Journey for Windseekers who like their waters a bit more sheltered. Come on board Tecla for a beautiful sight seeing tour that will take you from Aalborg to Bremerhaven. Watch the fireworks of Aalborg on your first day on board. Be part of the Sail Parade out on the second day. And start cruising, through the Limfjord on the third day. The Limfjord is a beautiful sailing area, sheltered from the sea, there are hardly any waves. We will take the time to explore the Limfjord a little as there are so many beautiful small cities we can visit, or abandoned docks to moor up along. Together with the other Windseekers, you’ll help to sail and steer the ship. It’s a powerful, bonding experience, so expect to make lots of new friends! Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

The final leg of the Tall Ships Races 2015 will finish in the grand port of Aalborg. Aalborg has had a love affair with The Tall Ships Races since 1999, when the city hosted the event for the first time. Aalborg is situated at the Liim Fiord where it was founded by Vikings over 1000 years ago. Today Aalborg is a modern city with visible historic roots. Its theatres, symphony orchestra, performance venues, and museums, make Aalborg a great place to wind down after an exhilarating Sail adventure.

Bremerhaven is one of the most important German ports, playing a crucial role in Germany’s trade. The town was founded in 1827, but settlements in the vicinity were settled as early as the 12th century. The main attractions for tourists are found at the Havenwelten and include the German Emigration Center and the German Maritime Museum, featuring the Hansekogge, a vintage cog dating from 1380, excavated in Bremen in 1962, and the historical harbour with a number of museum ships.
