Tecla:
Amsterdam (NL) - Oban (GB)

06 April - 15 April 2015

Go on an adventure across the North Sea. Join the Tecla on her voyage from the Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Oban, Scotland. Help out the crew on deck – setting sails, keeping lookout, steering the ship, and climbing the rigging if you’re comfortable. Steel yourself against the elements, as the North Sea weather can be stormy. You’ll travel through the Caledonian Canal where you will pass through brilliant Highland scenery by a staircase made out of locks. Traverse Logh Ness and keep an eye out for the monster.Have a quick beer in one of the lock pubs. After the Caledonian Canal we will sail to Mull and visit the Distillery in Tobermory, stopping at some of the best anchorages in Scotland! The voyage ends in Oban. Open Windseekers of all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

With more bicycles than people, cycling is an integral part of Amsterdam’s DNA. Hop on and see the city like the locals do! Winding waterways, idyllic bridges and historic buildings – one of the most memorable ways to truly see Amsterdam is from the canals. Amsterdam has a full cultural agenda showcasing the very best festivals, nightlife, exhibitions & events, plus there is enough practical tourist info, hotel, museum, excursion & attraction listings, you won’t miss a thing!

Oban (meaning ‘little bay’ in Gaelic) is a small harbor town on the west coast of Scotland, famous for its whiskey distillery. The town occupies a beautiful setting in the Firth of Lorn, and is a perfect place to find shelter from the Atlantic. Walking around town is a pleasure, and close by you’ll find mountains, castles, dramatic coastal scenery, and McCaig’s tower that resembles the Colosseum. In the first week of August, the town plays host to West Highland week, a yearly sailing regatta.
