Port Stanley (FK) - Puerto Williams (CL)

13 January - 21 February 2025

Exploring the Southern Ocean. Discover the shores of Falkland Islands before sailing to remote South Georgia. The wildlife is simply breath-taking! Spend some days visiting the area before heading for Antarctica. The Elephant Island will be your first land fall. Following this chain of Islands you will come to the South Shetland Islands. From there the journey will continue to take in the sights of the great white continent. Possible places to visit are Half-moon bay, Paradise harbour, Port Lockroy. It is very likely that you’ll end up in the company of humpback and fin whales. You can also expect many penguins and a great variety of seals. After a life-changing cruise through this new world it is time to set off for Tierra Del Fuego, the land of fire. On the way across the Drake Passage Tecla will try to make landfall at Cape Horn and Isla Navarino before finishing this voyage in Chile. Please be aware that all landing sites depend on wind, weather and ice conditions. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Port Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands - a British overseas territory off the coast of Argentina. Take a trip to the Falkland Islands Museum to find out about the archipelago's stormy past. A trek to the Gypsy Cove will reward you with beautiful views, including the seals and penguins, while the Christ Church Cathedral is the southernmost Anglican cathedral in the world! The shipwreck of 19th century Lady Elisabeth in Whalebone Cove is easily visible from the shore.

Puerto Williams is a city in southern Chile, located on the Beagle Channel. The location makes it a perfect starting point for visits to Antarctica and Cape Horn. If you're ready for more adventures after your journey, you can go on a hike in the nearby mountains. For a more relaxed time, visit Martin Gusinde Anthropological Museum, known as the southernmost museum in the world! There you can learn about local history (dating back 10,000 years!) as well as the natural environment.
