Port Stanley (FK) - Antarctica (AQ) - Puerto Williams (CL)

24 January - 20 February 2026

Explore Antarctica with Tecla: An Unforgettable Adventure. Embark on a sailing expedition to Antarctica, and discover the wonders of the Falkland Islands, the infamous Drake Passage, and the awe-inspiring Antarctic Peninsula. Explore the shores of Falkland Islands before heading across the Drake Passage for Antarctica. The Elephant Island will be your first landfall. From there the journey will continue to take in the sights of the great white continent. Possible places to visit are Penguin Island, Paradise Bay, and Port Lockroy, the home of southernmost post office in the world! It is very likely that you’ll end up in the company of humpback and fin whales. You can also expect many penguins and a great variety of seals. After a life-changing cruise through this new world you will sail north across the Drake once more, coming into the shelter of Chile’s Beagle Channel, bound for Puerto Williams. Please be aware that all landing sites depend on wind, weather and ice conditions. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Itinerary

Please note that this is a possible itinerary and serves as a general outline for the voyage. All plans are highly dependent on wind and weather conditions, which may require adjustments to the schedule and destinations to ensure safety and the best possible experience for all onboard. Flexibility is key when sailing in these remote and unpredictable regions.

Day 1–3: The Falkland Islands: potential visits to Pebble Island, Saunders Island, Volunteer Point, Bleaker Island, and more.
Day 4–10: Crossing the Drake Passage. Life onboard finds its rhythm as watches are established.
Day 11: Sailing through the Bransfield Strait en route to Penguin Island, a volcanic crater island.
Day 12–14: The Weddell Sea (weather and ice conditions permitting). Possible landings: Brown Bluff, Hope Bay, Paulet Island – home to large Adélie penguin colonies.

Day 15: Astrolabe Island, known for its Chinstrap penguin colony and dramatic scenery.
Day 16: Deception Island – enter the flooded volcanic caldera via Neptune’s Bellows. Explore Whalers Bay, old research stations, and remains from the whaling era.
Day 17: Departure from Deception Island, setting course for Trinity Island. Entering the scenic Gerlache Strait.
Day 18–20: In-depth exploration of the Gerlache Strait.

Day 21: Crossing toward the Le Maire Strait. Ice conditions will determine the course.
Day 22: Port Lockroy. Send a postcard from Antarctica and explore the restored British base and museum.
Day 23–26: Return voyage through the Drake Passage. Time to reflect, share stories, and organize photos and memories from the journey.
Day 27–28: Arrival in Chilean waters with Puerto Williams as your final destination – a fitting conclusion to this extraordinary voyage.

Ports

Port Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands – a British overseas territory off the coast of Argentina. Take a trip to the Falkland Islands Museum to find out about the archipelago’s stormy past. A trek to the Gypsy Cove will reward you with beautiful views, including the seals and penguins, while the Christ Church Cathedral is the southernmost Anglican cathedral in the world! The shipwreck of 19th century Lady Elisabeth in Whalebone Cove is easily visible from the shore.

Antarctica is a bucketlist destination for many world travellers – the seventh and most remote continent, a vast block of ice and rock beyond human civilisation. No-where else will you find the scale of the Antarctic peninsula – Sail past icebergs, mountains and scientific research stations. Unlike the larger cruise ships, sailing vessels offer a more intimate interaction with the continent – experience the emptiness as the whalers and explorers of history have.

Puerto Williams is a city in southern Chile, located on the Beagle Channel. The location makes it a perfect starting point for visits to Antarctica and Cape Horn. If you’re ready for more adventures after your journey, you can go on a hike in the nearby mountains. For a more relaxed time, visit Martin Gusinde Anthropological Museum, known as the southernmost museum in the world! There you can learn about local history (dating back 10,000 years!) as well as the natural environment.
