Reykjavik (IS) - Harlingen (NL)

05 October - 29 October 2025

This voyage is all depending on wind and weather. The roughly 700 miles between Reykjavik and Ullapool can be sailed in 5 days with a favorable wind, leaving time for exploring the archipelagos of Scotland. But if winds are less favorable, this will mean only sea time until Ullapool. Underway you can expect all kinds of weather, as well as many sea birds and hopefully some sea mammals! Leaving Reykjavik the chances are that you will see Orcas, Humpback Whales and Common dolphins. Which are not at all Common when they play with the bow wave and send you off on a good voyage!
Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Reykjavík is the capital of Iceland. As you approach from the sea, you’ll sea a modern city skyline with snowy volcanic mountains in the background. Reykjavík is quite cosmopolitan, with plenty of culture and entertainment. Go for a night on the town, or find a tour that takes you to see the glaciers, geysers, and volcanoes for which Iceland is famous. Reykjavík’s climate is less cold than you’d expect. At Nauthólsvík you’ll even find a geothermically heated beach!

Harlingen is a trade and fishing port in Friesland, the Netherlands. The town itself is over a thousand years old, and you’ll find several historic streets in the old city centre. Its small size makes it easy to explore the town on foot. In 2022 Harlingen was a port of call for the Tall Ships Races. The town operates ferry lines to the Frisian Islands, a unique nature reserve with populations of seals, birds, and other wildlife. With its ‘gezellige’ pubs the town is a great place for a stopover.
